After applying for the requested Authority Type, MTSi will work with your insurance company making sure the proper filings are submitted to the FMCSA, and submit your BOC-3 (Legal Process Agents).

DID YOU KNOW? You will receive the MC Number the same day of filing, however, the number is only issued not granted. It will take between 21-30 days for the authority to be granted.

Authority

Description of Authority Types:

Motor Common Carrier (Except Household Goods) - An authorized for-hire Motor Carrier that transports regulated commodities (Except Household Goods) for the general public in exchange for payment that is based on published tariff rates.
Motor Contract Carrier (Except Household Goods) - An authorized for-hire Motor Carrier that transports regulated commodities (except household goods) for specific customers in exchange for payment that is based on negotiated contracts.
Motor Common Carrier of Household Goods - An authorized for-hire Motor Carrier that transports only household goods for specific customers in exchange for payment that is based on negotiated contracts.
Broker of Property (Except Household Goods) - An individual, partnership, or corporation that receives payment for arranging the transportation of property (excluding household goods) belonging to others by using an authorized Motor Carrier.
Hazmat Permit - A special permit or approval document which authorizes a person to perform a function that is not currently authorized under the authority of the HMR. Also, in many instances, the Regulations require approvals and/or registrations prior to transportation in commerce.
